Monica Warren Obituary

Monica Warren, 68, peacefully left her loving family on February 20, 2024, after a four-year battle with cancer.  She was born in Barberton on June 16, 1955, to the late Frank and Rose Lecon.  Monica worked several different jobs before retiring from Sterling Jewelers to spend time with family and friends and to volunteer.

On Monica’s 32nd birthday, she met the love of her life, Dale Warren and their wonderful love story began. They were seldom apart, developed many friendships together, and seemed to always be planning another vacation. "Unchained Melody" by the Righteous Brothers is the soundtrack of their love.

Monica enjoyed spoiling her many nieces and nephews and their kids, activities with her Friendsgiving ladies, sitting in the sun on the boat feeding 'her' ducks, watching birds at her feeder, and keeping up with family and friends on Facebook.  But most of all she loved watching vacation videos in bed with Dale, renewing their vows on Waikiki Beach, February vacations on Nevis, cooking for family, having a HUGE Christmas tree and loading it with tons of gifts, dressing up fancy with Dale in his tux, and being "MOMica" to Kim, Keith and Mark (beginning the moment she said “I do” to Dale).

We will forever be reminded of her when we think of boating, chocolate martinis and margaritas, flip-flops and nautical wear, “going to work” (Bingo), jewelry and bling, daisies, Northfield Park (always bet on #4 & #5), lottery tickets and Vegas luck, cruises with family and friends, Thanksgiving dinners and Christmas parties, hot tubbing, PLX Life, hanging out at Dusty's, as well as many other memories she made.  Her laughter will echo in the hearts of the many friends and family who were touched by this angel on Earth.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful caregivers at the Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center for their love and care in the last few days of Monica’s life.

Along with her parents, Monica was preceded in death by her sisters, Susanne Bartel and Sylvia Roberts; and sister-in-law, Sally Lecon.  She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Dale Warren; step-sons, Keith (Tonya) and Mark Warren; step-daughter, Kim (David Harvey) Warren; grandson, Joshua; brothers, Dan, David (Jane) and Frank (Diana) Lecon; sister, Sarah Lecon; brothers-in-law, Bob Bartel and Steve Roberts; sister-in-law, Judy (John) York; as well as many nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

A funeral service will be held at NOON on Monday, February 26, 2024, at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E.
